Job Summary: This position requires experience in writing and editing of technical documents in accordance with set standards and specifications. Preference provided to candidates knowledgeable of Automated Technical Order System (ATOS) procedures, Air Force Technical Orders, Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), and Generalized Markup Language (GML). Attention to detail and strong written skills are required. Familiarity with Air Force Technical Manual Specifications and Standards encouraged.

U.S. ARMY SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT

Job Summary: Provide United States Army (USA) experience and knowledge as related to Large Force Exercise (LFE) employment and Army warfare/mission planning. The USA Subject Matter Expert (SME) will support RED FLAG - Alaska (RF-A) planning conferences, exercises, and training operations with key focus on integrating USA aviation and warfare platform capabilities, tactics, weapon systems, techniques, procedures, and objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for accomplishing the specific responsibilities and activities described below as well as additional duties assigned by the 353 CTS/DO, 353 CTS/CC and PACAF/A3X.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work in conjunction with Air Force liaison/program managers to oversee RF-A operations that focus on USA integration and coordinate as necessary with USA units
  • Perform exercise “assessment and analysis” during RF-A exercises to gather/determine objectives, develop After-Action Analysis Reports, and disseminate/coordinate related data
  • Provide assessment of RF-A/USA exercise objectives
  • Formulate conclusions regarding outcomes (success/non-success) as related to Army JMETLs/JTs
  • Support exercise development, scheduling/planning, and execution of USA tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Support integration of USA and Air Force RF-A exercise planning and execution efforts
  • Provide USA combat expertise to RF-A staff controllers to foster joint training
  • Document lessons learned and/or limiting factors to enhance current exercise operations
  • Develop “Position Papers” reflecting the USA/joint perspective towards ongoing or planned exercise and training processes
  • Provide USA/joint academic training sessions to RF-A staff in preparation for exercise and training events
Minimum Requirements:
  • B.S. Prefer Engineering/Science but not required
  • 8 years of direct related experience in USA aviation, warfare platform capabilities, weapon systems, tactics, techniques, procedures, and objectives
Experience Preferred:
  • USA Aviator/Pilot
  • Technical Leadership or Program Management
  • Ability to use MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel
